Obituary of Raymond Royal, Sr.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Raymond Royal, Sr. are scheduled for 10 AM Monday, February 8, 2021, in Northeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery, Rayville, LA, with Bro. Waymond Warren officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 7, 2021, from 3 PM until 5 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Royal, a member of Fair Park Baptist Church, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the age of seventy-three. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mr. Royal was a generous, giving and humble soul. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam where he sustained injuries earning him a purple heart medal. Mr. Royal is survived by his spouse, Sandra Lee Royal; children, Raymond Royal, Jr., Catrina Franklin and husband Jody, Christina Finklea, Jenn Cox and husband Tyson, Katelyn Markus and husband Zane; sister, Edna Yates and husband Bobby; brother, Robert Royal and wife Gwin; grandchildren, Raymond Royal III, Randall Royal, Riley Royal, Amy Bates, Dianna Franklin, Katelyn Markus, Tyler Allen, Austin Allen, Elijah Finklea, Delilah Cox, Charlotte Cox; great-grandchildren, Matthew Markus, Carter Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rayford Royal and Lillie Royal; sisters, Elenora Shirey, Evelyn Oliver, Eva Davis; brother, Rayford Royal, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
