Graveside funeral services for Mr. Cecil Carol Cliburn, 85, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2PM Tuesday, February 9, 2021, in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Andy Myrick and Tim Post officiating. Services will be under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Cliburn was born on September 19, 1935 in Silver Creek, MS, and passed away February 8, 2021. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from December 11, 1953 to September 7, 1956. He was on the U.S.S. Oriskany aircraft carrier, as a Boiler Operator and he received the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Cliburn retired from the International Paper Company of Bastrop, LA, and also retired from Georgia Pacific in Crossett, AR. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Armonia Gordan Cliburn; daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Dianne Cliburn Nutt and husband James of South Carolina, Donna Carol Cliburn Gray and husband Keith of Bastrop, LA, Crystal Renee Cliburn Brown and husband Bobby of Bastrop, LA; son, David “Bubba” Ralph Cliburn and wife Barbie of Bastrop, LA; step-children, Ginger DeHart, Sundra Lee, Brenda Robinette; grandchildren, Phillip Marcus Bolding, Elizabeth Jean Nutt Rudd, Felicia Nicole Tucker and husband Heath, Cody Lance Hawthorne and wife Morgan, Erica Yeates and husband Trey, Cody Johnson, Allen Michael Brown, and mother of his children, Rachel; great-grandchildren, Gavin Bolding, Christen Bolding, Cierra Celesta Zarger, Justin Cole Tucker, McKenzie Carol Leleu, Bella Claire Hawthorne, Ava Celeste Hawthorne, Ashlynne Jacob, A.B. Jacob, Evan Jacob, Weston Lane Yeates, Duke Greyson Yeates, Tanner Williams, Keatan Little, Josey Claire Brown, Vayda Rae Brown, Gunner Allen Brown; and numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cliburn is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Cliburn and Grace Robinson Cliburn; wife, Celesta Corean Brown Cliburn; and grandson, Christopher Martin Bolding.
