Obituary of Larry Walker

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Walker, seventy-five, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, February 12, 2021 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Gilbreath officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Larry was born in Bastrop, LA on October 21, 1945 and passed away on February 8, 2021 in Bastrop, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Marie Walker of Collinston, LA; daughter, Pamela Cain of Beaumont, TX; and granddaughter, Misty Waller. He is survived by his brothers, Joel Walker and wife Annette of Milton, FL, and Gary Walker of Swartz, LA; son, Steve Walker and wife Kathie of Bastrop, LA; daughters, Janet Waller of Sterlington, LA, Susan Wit and husband John, Beth Courson, and Carla Perry, all of Bastrop, LA; grandsons, Adam Yates, Alex Yates, Cody Walker (Kristen), and Patrick Petty; granddaughters, Amy Woodard (Bo), Amanda Petty, Ashley Nugent (Bryan), Jennifer Nicolle (Matt), Macie Walker, Alisha Collins (Lucas), Robin Petty, Morgan Johnson (Bubba), Michelle Wallace (Ryan); and twenty-six great grandchildren. Larry served four years in the United States Navy on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked as a welder/pipefitter out of the Local 659 and traveled all over the United States. He loved his children, grands and great grandchildren with his whole heart. And he also loved his girls from Simmons Sporting Goods. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Walker, Bubba Johnson, Ryan Wallace, John Wit, Bo Woodard, and Alex Yates. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Saucer and Joe Don Leonard.
