Funeral services for Mr. Clifton Gene Rogers, Jr., age 76, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Myrick officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 am. Saturday. Mr. Rogers, a retired employee of 40 years at International Paper Company and member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, where he served on the ministry team, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and his family was his heart. He served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam at the rank of Sergeant and received a Navy commendation medal. He served his country in an exemplary manner. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Lutrick Rogers; sons, Shane Alan Rogers-Mauro and husband Victor, Lance Davis Rogers and wife Shelly, Brent Wayne Rogers and Cyndi; sister, Dianne Rogers Kelly and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Brandon Tyler Rogers, Trevor Wayne Rogers, Halee Lashea Rogers, Tamara Rogers, Sarah Rogers, Brittany Lipscomb, Landon Allred, Adrianna Rogers, Nathan Hensley, Elizabeth Hensley and Makenzi Hansford; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Strahan; brothers in law, Warren Lutrick and wife Ella, Keith Lutrick and wife Dianna, Barry Lutrick; sister in law, DeWanna Besse and husband Michael and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton “Pip” Rogers, Sr. And Dorothy “Dot” Rogers; in laws, Davis and Reese Lutrick and a granddaughter, Kara Rogers. Serving as pallbearers are: Brandon Rogers, Trevor Rogers, Johnny Cherry, Jon Paul Carter, and William Handy. Honorary pallbearers are: Andy Anderson, Bernard Dunn and Mike Tubbs. The family would like to take this means to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff of Premier Hospice for the excellent care that they provided for Mr. Rogers.
