Funeral services for Mr. Clarence E. Lowry, Sr., age 81, International Paper Retiree, are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Hackler and Bro. Mickey Bounds officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30 PM until 2 PM service time at Goldens.
Mr. Lowry, a member, Sunday School teacher and deacon of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021. He loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren and his pet goose. He also enjoyed his roses, zinnias, traveling and the ocean.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-two and a half years, JoAnn Lowry; children, Elizabeth McDowell and husband Gregg, Edwin Lowry and wife Yolanda; sister, Noma Driggers and Jim of Tampa, FL; brother, Roy Hornbuckle of Crossett, AR; grandchildren, Jennifer Gerald and husband Jason, Jonathan Wilson, Lance Lowry; great grandchildren, Baylee Maus and husband Jeff, Alyssa Gerald, William Henson, Joseph Henson, L.J. Wilson and one great great grandson coming in August, Jackson Maus.
Mr. Lowry is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Blackwell and his son, Joseph Lowry.
Serving the family as pallbearers are Steve Perry, Lynn Sanders, Carl Stewart, Dillon McDowell, Truman Hough, and Danny Lee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Lowry’s grandsons and great grandsons.
