Obituary of Alton Carey Reeves

Funeral services for Mr. Alton Carey Reeves are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Hackler and Mr. Ralph Owens officiating with a private interment at Lick Prairie Cemetery in Crossett, AR. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 PM - 2 PM service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Reeves, a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the age of ninety. He was a retired United States Army veteran. During his twenty-one years of active duty, he served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army, Mr. Reeves was employed at International Paper Company for over 23 years where he worked as a welder. He loved the outdoors taking great pride in his yard, enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. To his family and friends, Mr. Reeves instilled the value of a dedicated work ethic, the importance of education and love and service to our country.
Mr. Reeves was an active member of the Monroe Scottish Rite Bodies, where he earned his 33rd Degree Inspector General Honorary. For over sixty years he served multiple Masonic Lodges, where he held numerous titles such as Worshipful Master and District Grand Lecturer. Mr. Reeves was also a member of the Barak Shrine and York Rite Bodies.
He is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Ann Reeves; children, Alice Jennings and husband Scott, Cyndi LaMarche, Kathy Bergh; brother, Phillip Reeves and wife Patsy; grandchildren, Patrick Mizell, Carrie Mizell, Tyler Jennings and wife Hannah, Meggan Oxner, James Kidd; great grandchildren, Cheslee Oxner, Emersyn and Brilynn Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Reeves is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Berdie Reeves; siblings, Bill Reeves, Jim Reeves, Roy Reeves, Marguerite Holliday, Floy Richardson, Barbara Jean Moore and Ruby Dell Reeves.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Patrick Mizell, Scott Jennings, Seth Oxner, Randy Rodgers, Theron Scott and Gary Mizell.
