Obituary of Alvin Thomas "Trey" Strickland, III

Funeral services for Alvin Thomas “Trey” Strickland III, age twenty-three, of Bastrop, LA will be held 2 PM Friday, March 5, 2021, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Britt Dupree and Bro. Philip McCready officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 12 PM - 2 PM service time. Trey was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to fish, hunt, and play pool. He was a devoted husband and father, especially to his daughter. He is survived by his wife, Caitlyn Strickland; daughter, Alivia Strickland; parents, Amanda Strickland, and friend, John David Sawyer, and Alvin Thomas Strickland, Jr. and wife, Melisa; grandparents, Mary Emanuel and Dawn Strickland, Tim and Shirley Loupe; great-grandmother, Erma Herring; siblings, Gene Strickland, Destany Strickland, and Michael Strickland; uncle, Keith Emanuel; aunt, Angela Dawn Jones and husband Chris; uncles, Gain Luke, Rodney Luke; mother-in-law, Angela Farrar; father-in-law, Tab Coleman and wife Anna; grandparents-in-law, Mickey Farrar and husband Leonard; brother-in-law, Luke Coleman; sister-in-law, Destiney Young and husband Steven; nephews, Dalton, Brayden; nieces, Asha, Emerald; and numerous cousins and friends. Trey is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Louie Allen Emanuel, Alvin Thomas Strickland, Sr., and step-father, Arnold David Hale. Serving the family as pallbearers are Luke Coleman, Barlee Acreman, Marcus Potter, Ryan Westbrook, Caleb Johnson, Xavier Whitmore, and James Dove.
