Funeral services for Mr. Gaston Eugene “Gene” Dye are scheduled for 2 PM, Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Garry Massey and Bro. Tim Dye officiating. Interment will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Crossett, Ar, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation preceding the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Mr. Dye, a resident of Crossett, AR, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, AR, at the age of seventy-eight. Mr. Dye, United States Army veteran, who served during the Vietnam War era, and a retired carpenter, farmer, and crop insurance adjuster. He was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church, and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaston Green and Annie Lee Russell Dye; daughter, Carmen Sanders; grandson, Haden Howell; and brothers, Jerry Dye, Harry Dye, Bobby Dye, and John Dye. Survivors include his loving wife of forty-nine years, Sylvia Goyne Dye; daughter, Shawna Le’Anne Dye of Fresno, CA; son, Lance Brookings, and fiancé Mandi Griffith, of Crossett, AR; sisters, Diane Ragus, and husband Jerry, of Acworth, GA, Sue Tatum, of Mer Rouge, LA, and Toni Barkley, and husband Mike, of Monroe, LA; brothers, Joe Dye, and wife Barbara, of Mer Rouge, LA, and Kenny Dye, and wife Linda, of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Case Griever, and fiancé, Makayla, of Crossett, AR, Briana Rodgers, and husband Derek, of Crossett, AR, Austin Brookings, of Little Rock, AR, Laiken Russell, of Bastrop, LA, Chloe Brookings, of New Orleans, LA, Briana Pennington, of Crossett, AR; great-grandchildren, Talan Mercer, Berkley Griever, Rhett Rodgers, Vander Pennington, and Gracelynn Griever, who is on the way and due to arrive in July; two very special sisters-in-law, Janice Dye, of Bossier City, LA, and Becky Dye, of Farmerville, LA; along with many special nieces and nephews. Serving the family as pall bearers will be Britt Courson, Joey Dye, Ashley Goyne, Bartly Rainbolt, Chester Rosen, and Derek Rodgers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon’s International, or the Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child.
