Funeral services for Mr. William Altus "Bill" Darnell are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, March, 24, 2021 at Bonita Road Baptist Church with Pastor Casey Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Darnell, a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021. He was a retiree of International Paper Company, the Single Service Division, and then he worked at Collins Foods.
He is survived by his children, Richard W. Darnell and wife Martha, Linda Darnell Sloan, Dana Darnell Grayson and husband William, Wanda Simpson Nelson, Elaine Simpson, Stephen Simpson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Mr. Darnell is preceded in death by wives, Mackie McCrary McCain and Helen Darnell; parents. Altus and Lillie Darnell; and siblings, Clara Allen, James Darnell, Catherine Robertson, Robert “Bobby” Darnell.
Bonita Road Baptist Church deacons will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to say “Thank you” to the nurses and staff at Cherry Ridge Guest Care for the special care they gave to Mr. Darnell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Bonita Road Baptist Church.
