Obituary of Marie Orr Kennedy

Funeral services for Ms. Marie Orr Kennedy are scheduled for 11:30 AM Friday, March 26, 2021, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Tony Campanale officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, prior to the service, beginning at 10:30 AM. Ms. Kennedy, a current resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021, at the age of ninety-three. She was born in Bastrop, LA, and graduated from Bastrop High School. Ms. Kennedy later moved to Florida, then Georgia, and in the mid 1970's made her way back to Bastrop, LA. She became a member of Beekman Methodist Church and was known as being a wonderful cook and baker. Ms. Kennedy loved to dance and fish and was an all around people person. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Townley Bell of Roswell, GA; son, Barry Kennedy and wife Caran of Canton, GA; sister, Merdean Orr Lord of Sebastian, FL; brother, Acie Orr of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, David Kennedy, Jr., Chris Kennedy, Alec Kennedy, Catherine Kennedy, Christian Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Makayla Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Ms. Kennedy is preceded in death by her parents, Whitney and Mildred Orr; brothers, Norman Orr, Frank Orr; and son, David Wayne Kennedy.
