Funeral services for Mrs. Paula Maxine Morgan Duncan, age 94, of Monroe, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. JoAnn Pounds officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. service time.
Mrs. Duncan, a retired nurse, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021. She was a member of Memorial Methodist Church and Lea Joyner Methodist Church. She was adopted from the Louisiana Children’s Home and brought to the Lightwood community, where she was raised. She was a graduate of Bastrop High School, and St. Francis Nursing School. Paula was employed at the Garnier Clinic until it closed and as a safety nurse at International Paper Company. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Homemaker’s Club, and United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Duncan is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Grimmett and husband Ronnie of Natchitoches, LA, Sharon Henry and husband Brian of Sterlington, LA; grandchildren, Brandi Ecklund and husband William, Heidi Norris, Forrest Grimmett and wife Melissa, Anna Chapman and husband Tony, Morgan Grimmett; great grandchildren, Jackson Ecklund, Sophie Ecklund, Kadin Grimmett, Owen Grimmett, Nora Chapman, Oliver Chapman, Ellen Maxine Chapman, Aubrie Grimmett; and a special friend, Carolyn Nowlin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Duncan; parents, William “Cap” Morgan and Ettice Westbrook Morgan.
