Obituary of Nedra "NeNe" Bennett

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Nedra “NeNe” Bennett are scheduled for 10 AM Thursday, May 13, 2021, in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Justin Akers officiating. Services will be under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Bennett, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, at the age of eighty-six. She was a member of Upper Room Church Ministries where she served as the church secretary for many years. Mrs. Bennett loved her church and enjoyed playing the piano there for many years. She was always there for her church family. Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bennett Aldridge of Collinston, LA; son-in-law, James Starkey, Jr. of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Brandon Dupree and wife Christin of Saginaw, TX, Troy Welch and wife Melody of Gulfport, MS, Jessica Starkey of Groton, CT; great-grandchildren, Bryce Conner Dupree, Brant Dupree, Bennett Ace Dupree, Brandon Allen, Ashley Allen, Billy Goodman, Cody Goodman, and Zackary Gooden. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie D. and Julia Mask; husband, Robert E. “Bob” Bennett; and daughter, Dianne Starkey. The family expresses a heartfelt thanks to Upper Room Ministries for the many years of love shown to Mrs. Bennett.
