Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Ray Flowers, Sr., are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, July 3, 2021 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Flowers, a retired Freight Agent with Union Pacific Railroad and member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the age of ninety-one. He was an avid white perch fisherman and deer hunter, who had a love for trains. Mr. Flowers also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Flowers; son, Cecil “Ray” Flowers, Jr. and wife Robbi of Slidell, LA; son-in-law, Jim Harkness of Bastrop, LA; sister, Corinth “Christine” Flowers Ezell of Gilbert, LA; grandchildren, Heather LeAnn Flowers Rice and husband Adam of Bastrop, LA , Robert Flowers and wife Stacey of Norman, OK, Blake Harkness and wife Megan of Monroe, LA, and Ryan Flowers of Slidell, LA; and one great grandchild, Maddox Rice. Mr. Flowers is preceded in death by his parents, Cammie “Warren” Flowers and Iva Bell Barton Flowers; daughter, Jan Thurlo Flowers Harkness; and brothers-in-law, Louis Ezell, Don Thiele, and Tommy Lloyd. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Robert Flowers, Ryan Flowers, Blake Harkness, Jim Harkness, Mark Ezell, and Johnny Ezell. Honorary pallbearers are Devon Hayes and Lynn Eppinette. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 9 AM - 10 AM at Golden Funeral Home.
