Obituary of James "Jim" Garland Smith

Graveside funeral services for Mr. James “Jim” Garland Smith are scheduled for 10 AM Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Pine Grove South Cemetery with Bro. Phillip McCready officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Jim, a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church, was born on July 10, 1943 and passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the age of seventy-eight. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Tommy Smith and wife Barbara, and Fred Alan Smith and wife Mary; nieces and nephews, Nita Gandy, Lisa Cheramie, David Smith, Charles Smith and Ray Smith. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Oather and Margie Smith; nephew, Doug Smith; niece, Andrea Smith and sister-in-law, Gaye Smith. The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Lagniappe Healthcare for the love shown to their "J.J." Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Social Security Hounds Sunday School Class.
