Obituary of Jerry Wayne Lawrence

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Lawrence are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Tillou Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Edwards and Bro. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Lawrence, a retired electrician at International Paper Company after thirty-seven years of service and member of Pine Grove Community Church, passed away July 13, 2021 at the age of eighty-two. He loved hunting, fishing, planting his garden, as he planted one every year. Mr. Lawrence loved to visit and tell others about the Lord. He loved attending and supporting the many activities of his grandchildren. One of his greatest loves was playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Linda Susan Lawrence; children, Lisa Marie Mayo, Teresa Sue Edwards and husband Douglas, Kevin Wayne Lawrence and wife Rhonda, Jerry Allen Lawrence and wife Holly, and William Joseph Lawrence and wife Nita; sister, LaNita Watson, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and numerous friends and extended family. Mr. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, William Byron Lawrence and Margie Marie Lawrence; son, Jerry Wayne Lawrence, Jr, and sister, Charlotte Tonette Smith. Serving the family as pallbearers are Jerry Allen Lawrence, William Joseph Lawrence, Joshua Edwards, Samuel Edwards, Matthew Brown, and Jacob Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith and Tim Smith. The family will receive friends Friday, July 16, 2021 from 5 PM - 8 PM at Tillou Baptist Church
