Obituary of Mildred M. "Millie" Mitchell

Funeral services for Mildred M. “Millie” Mitchell are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Lisa Mayo and Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 PM. Mrs. Mitchell, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021, at the age of ninety-two. She was a sales rep for the Bastrop Daily Enterprise for over thirty-five years and was known for being a very forgiving and loving person. Mrs. Mitchell loved her church and she loved to sing. She sang with Reily and Friends, and put out two CD’s with them. Mrs. Mitchell also enjoyed flowers, roses being the most important to her. Her favorite pastime was fishing and she was one of the best duck hunters around! Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her sons, Will Mitchell of Bastrop, LA, Randall Mitchell of Swartz, LA; grandchildren, Priscilla Mitchell Mayo and husband Jason, Donna Lynn Rainwater and husband Joe, Lisa Eppinette and husband Malcolm, Jared Bryan; great-grandchildren, Chyenne Michael Mayo, Jaycee Mayo, Ryder Rainwater, Trey Rainwater, Hannah Turnbow and Clay Turnbow. She is preceded in death by her parents, O.B. Leary and Pauline Leary; husband, Kenneth "Skinny" Mitchell; daughter, Sharon Elaine Mitchell; and sister, Jessie Fay Counts. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Mayo, Chyenne Mayo, Joe Rainwater, Malcolm Eppinette, David Bass and Roy Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Reily Memorial United Methodist Church and Oak Hill Baptist Church. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Premier Hospice and to the staff at LeGrand who she considered her angels.
