Obituary of Sandra Golden Ferrell

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Sandra Golden Ferrell are scheduled for 10 AM Monday, August 9, 2021, in Christ Church Cemetery, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Ferrell, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the age of seventy-one. Some may have called her granny, momma or even sweet baby. But she was in fact a bold, adventurous, and strong woman. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She had a good sense of humor. And more than likely would always have the last word. She could give you the look that could cut gold but would most certainly let you know how much she loved you after. She would spend her time just relaxing and watching tv. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee and ice cream. Hundreds of people were welcomed through her home in guidance of battling addiction and maintaining sobriety and she helped with her advice and wisdom being a sponsor. Even after battling and beating cancer the first time she was still that brave strong woman, that wanted to fight it again. No matter the trial or tribulation that she went through she never gave up. She is survived by her daughters, Tonya Hawkins and husband Kevin, Julie Nichols, Marguerite Nelson; son, Borden Townsend and wife Renee’; grandchildren, Alexis Townsend Cockrell, Kristan Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins, Caden Hawkins, Aaron Townsend, Chelsay Ramphrey, Chandler Douglas, Chastyn Reyna, Cameron Jinks, Cayson Jinks; and great-grandchildren, Presleigh, Sophia, Addyson, Avery, Sloan, and Jones. Mrs. Ferrell is preceded in death by her parents, James Borden Golden and Marguerite Bolding Golden; husband, Carlton Ferrell; son, Jason Edward Nelson; grandchildren, Zane and Dalton Boyte; and brother, Robert Mitchell Golden.
