Obituary of Wesley Clay

Funeral services for Mr. Wesley Clay are scheduled for 10 AM Thursday, August 12, 2021 at South Main Baptist Church, Crossett, AR with Bro. Lyle Hern officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Road Cemetery, Crossett, AR under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Clay, a member of South Main Baptist Church,, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the age of seventeen. Wesley was a senior at Beekman Charter School and an honor student. He was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Students. He is survived by his parents, Sabrina and John Clay of Bastrop, LA; grandparents, Ronny and Nancy Freeland of Bastrop, LA, Victoria and John Thiele of Shreveport, LA; aunts and uncles, Shawnie Brock and husband Kenny of Bastrop, LA, Chris Freeland and wife Lindsey of Bastrop, LA, Dennise Harrison of Mineral Wells, TX, Shirley Freeland of Keithville, LA, Amy Freeland of Milo, AR, Jessie Longoria and husband Tommy of Shreveport, LA, Daniel Clay of Shreveport, LA Jamie Gunter of Monroe, LA Melba Norsworthy of Bastrop, LA and Linda Middleton and husband John of Oak Grove, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Mr. Clay is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold Doss (his Big Daddy); great grandfather, Leroy Sanders; great grandmothers, Edith Freeland, Dorothy Calendar, and Acie Freeland; uncles, Scott Gentry, Johnny freeland, and Jimmy Norsworthy; and Taekwondo Master, Paul Burns. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Michael Austin, Rodney Austin, Christopher Freeland, Ronny Freeland, Dawson Moore, Dalon Moore, Brandon Stevenson, and Stan Haney. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Brock, Chris Freeland, Wilbert Jackson, BCS Class of 2022, SMBC Youth Group and Brandon Morris. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 5 PM - 9 PM at South Main Baptist Church, Crossett, AR.
