Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Jean Sims are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, August 28, 2021 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9 AM - 10 AM service time at Goldens.
Mrs. Sims passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at the age of eighty. Mrs. Sims was best known as Mama, Mamaw and Aunt Bonnie. She loved her Lord and loved getting the family together for holidays and any other reason she could. Her laughter was infectious and she was quite the prankster, but she was a very hard worker. Mrs. Sims also enjoyed the outdoors and planting flowers in her yard.
She is survived by her children, Brett Lee Sims and Peggy, David Wayne Sims and wife Melanie, Tia Sims DeBlieux and husband Larry; sister, Paulette Whitehead; grandchildren, Devon Christopher Michael Sims, Derek Ryan DeBlieux, Dr. Tyler Keith DeBlieux and wife Kelsey, Casey Breann Sims; great grandchildren, Rielle Sims, Jacob Sims, Jackson Avery DeBlieux; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mrs. Sims is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, David Joe Sims; parents, Samuel Lee Roy and Annie Belle Murphy Massey; granddaughter, Erin Brooke DeBlieux; siblings, Lillian Massey, Thelma Louise Massey, Fay Evelyn Massey, Harold Dean Massey, Gerrie Maxine Massey, Henry Donald Massey, Robbie Lee Massey, Roy Edward Massey, Annie Delores Massey, Hazel Ruth Massey, Hilliard Massey, Sivil Massey, Odell Massey, and her furbaby, Sweetie.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Foster, Justin Kavalier, Edward Chappell, Mike Warren, Darren Sims, Audie Eppinette and John Derek Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek DeBlieux, Dr. Tyler DeBlieux, Bill Massey, Brian Aaron, Danny Prince, Jesse Rogers, Joseph Rogers and Mark Rogers.
