Obituary of Della Lorene Duplissey

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Della Lorene Duplissey, age 95, born October 24, 1925 in Hatfield, AR to the late Charles Isom and Minnie Elizabeth Strawn Nichols, will be held privately at Pine Grove South Cemetery with Rev. David Sistrunk officiating. Mrs. Duplissey, a retiree from Western Union, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021. She was a member of North Bastrop Church of God. She loved being outdoors and spending time with her family. Going to church and being around God’s people held a special place in her heart. She is survived by her children, Janice McKenzie and husband Joe of Fort Smith, AR, Kim Shockey and husband Monty of Bastrop, LA, Steve Duplissey and wife Dayna of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Joey McKenzie and wife Chelsey, Justin McKenzie, Krystan Channell and husband Cody, Adam Shockey, Ross Duplissey and fiancee’ Jamie, Linda Hall, Miranda Duplissey and companion Henry Purdy, Jr., great grandchildren, Jaden and Airah McKenzie, Lane and Lincoln Channell, Tyler Duplissey and Serenity Davis, Bentley Hall, Bryce Hall, Jordan Duplissey, Chandler Duplissey, Chaisson Duplissey, Karter Duplissey; special friend, Ann Evans and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Mrs. Duplissey is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Douglas Duplissey; infant son, James Douglas Duplissey; brothers, Joe Nichols, Charlie Nichols of Hatfield, AR; and sister, Elsie Price of Vancouver, WA. Serving as pallbearers will be, Joey McKenzie, Justin McKenzie, Adam Shockey, Cody Channell, Ross Duplissey and Henry Purdy, Jr.
