Funeral services for Mr. Walter “Terry” Blackmon are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Elder Wayne Painter officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 AM - 11 AM service time Saturday at Goldens.
Mr. Blackmon, a retired employee of UPS and resident of Many, LA, passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 in Baton Rouge, LA , at the age of fifty-eight.
He is survived by his father, William Ray “Pete” Blackmon; son, Eric Wayne Blackmon and wife Sarah; sisters, Tamela Annette Blackmon Kirby and husband Roger, Tanya Yvette Blackmon and fiance’ Rickey Poirrier, half-sister, Christina Gayle Blackmon, step-sister, Melissa Herrera Morgan; brother, Michael Todd Blackmon and wife Lauren, step-brothers, Ras Herrera, John Herrera, Mike Herrera, Tony Herrera, and Mark Herrera; grandchildren, Ezra Blackmon and Theo Blackmon.
Mr. Blackmon is preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Blackmon; mother, Archie Faye James Blackmon; step-mother, Virginia Kathryn Callery Blackmon; grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Herman Blackmon, and Archie and Stella James.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jimmy Farrar, Bobby Templet, James Wiggins, Jerry Katawar, Wayne Flint, and Rodney Teel. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Scherer, Jamie Wiggins, Clay Burrough and Denny McClain.
