Mike was the “younger brother” of My classmate, Pat, but when you knew the Martins, you knew them all. Mike was, just like his parents, a spark in any room. So sorry. I lost my brother and father to cancer in 1996, so I know how tough this is. All my best wishes.

We, the members of the class of 73, have lost a dear friend. We had gotten to see him on a fairly regular basis at reunions and gatherings over the last few years. We were always happy to be with him as he was with us. Mike and I became good friends back in our early school days in Bastrop with our love of music being a binding factor as well as our parents being great friends. We spent a lot of time riding around the countryside of Morehouse parish listening to our 8-tracks then cassettes of all our favorite bands-frequently with a car full of buddies.I am so happy to have had time to spend with him this last month or so and know I will be with him again down the road.-Terry Tugwell
