Funeral services for Mr. Gary Lane McIntyre are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Hackler and Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Mr. McIntyre, a resident of Bastrop, LA, was born on July 16, 1947 and passed away October 24, 2021, at the age of seventy-four. He served in the U.S. Air Force and as a UPS driver. His favorite job in life was making people laugh. He always had a ready joke or story which he thought was funny. Mr. McIntyre’s favorite thing was baseball, from the age they were allowed to play. He was the left handed pitcher and twin, Kary was his catcher. They were a great team. He coached his son’s team all through Clay’s growing years. He was a gentle, loving and kind man. He will be remembered and missed by many. Mr. McIntyre is survived by his wife and caregiver, Pat McIntyre; daughter, April Boykin (Brian); son, Clay McIntyre; sister, Rhonda McIntyre Bostick (Bardell); brother, Roger Alan McIntyre (Cathy); sister-in-law, Marsha McIntyre; sister-in-law, Susan Griffin; brother-in-law, Floyd Griffin (Jan); grandchildren, Tessa Boykin, Lane Boykin, Kayden McIntyre and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by parents, Audrey Norman McIntyre and Frellson A. McIntyre; twin brother, Kary W. McIntyre; first wife and mother of his children, Bonnie Polk McIntyre; step fathers, Ernest O’Neal McIntyre and Omer Gagnon. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Grimmett, Biff Meredith, Roger Jones, Danny DeBlieux, Lane Boykin and Kayden McIntyre. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Sharpton, Dr. Carter Cox, Andy Anderson and Scotty Townsend.
