Funeral services for Gennie B. Crenshaw are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, November 11, 2021, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Jerry Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM.
Mrs. Crenshaw, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the age of seventy-seven. She was a member of Bastrop Church of God, who was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Mrs. Crenshaw loved her Gospel singing, her church and her animals.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Crenshaw; step-daughter, Ruby Stanley and husband Red; step-son, Danny Crenshaw; sister, Linda Brown McLaughlin; brothers, Turner Charles "Charlie" Brown, Sonny (Dewey Eugene) Brown, Reggie Brown; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Crenshaw is preceded in death her parents, Dewey Webster Brown and Irene Wyatt Brown; brother, Gordon K. Brown; sister, Alice May Brown Christian; half siblings, Bennie Brown, James Brown, Rachael Brown Wells, June Brown and Helen Cunningham.
Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Reeves, Dean Brown, Rodney Brown, Shane Brown, Dillon Brown and Kaylon Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Turner Charles "Charlie" Brown.
