Obituary of L'Vonne Kerrigan Anderson

Mrs. L’Vonne Kerrigan Anderson was born to the late Tom Abner, Sr. and Coela Spinks Kerrigan on November 8, 1923 and passed away on November 27, 2021 at the age of 98. She was born in Wisner, LA and graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1942 in Elementary Education. She taught school for 42 plus years at Bonita and also at West Side Elementary, Cherry Ridge, and Prairie View Academy. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. service time.
Mrs. Anderson, was the oldest member of Central Church of Christ. She loved working in her flower beds, getting her hair fixed, and reading books especially her bible. She also enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She loved her children, grandchildren and her puppies Zack and Seth.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughters, Teresa Anderson Wood and husband Gary, Angela Anderson Ryder and husband Todd; son, Andy Anderson and wife Martha; grandchildren, Mandy Anderson, Richard Anderson IV and wife Katie, Megan Shirley and husband John, Dave Marlatt and wife Katie, Lauren Edminston, and husband Dylan, Aaron Wood, Kerrigan Wood, Courtney Robertson and husband Kirk, Bailey Whorton and husband Nolan; twenty great grandchildren; sister in law, Lois Kerrigan; brother in law, David Anderson and wife Marie and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R.C. “Buddy” Anderson, Jr.; grandchildren, Christopher Marlatt, Morgan Wroten, Meredith Wroten, Nicole Anderson, Justice Farrar; her parents; sister, Lee Schooler and husband Harold; a brother, Tom Kerrigan, Jr.; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dick and Pearl Anderson.
Serving as pallbearers are: Richard Anderson IV, Carson Anderson, Dave Marlatt, Aaron Wood, Kerrigan Wood, Gavin Wolfe, Dylan Edminston and Nolan Whorton.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Anderson, Jr., Lindsey Anderson and Dr. Carter Cox.
Special friends - Romans 12:10 tells us - Be devoted to one another in love - Honor one another above yourselves. We would like to give a special thanks to many years of friendship that was bestowed upon our mom from these special ladies. You are dearly loved. Lexie Harper, Mildred Bradshaw, Genie Daniell (deceased) and Freeda Burgess.
