Funeral services for Mr. Huey P. “Coot” Bonner are scheduled for 2:30 PM Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Bonner and Bro. Allan Eppinette officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM
Mr. Bonner, a retired heavy equipment operator and faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the age of eighty-five. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Bonner was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, and he was an undefeated Golden Gloves boxer. Gardening was one of his favorite past times and many people were recipients of his produce. He also enjoyed raising all farm animals, especially goats and chickens.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Gloria Bonner; sons, Harvey Bonner and wife Denise, Gary Bonner and wife Becky, Jamie Bonner and wife Cheri; sisters, Peggy Wills and husband Don, Dora Johnson and husband Bob, Tinna Harper and husband Glenn; grandchildren, Angela, Nick, Lexi, Clint, Scott, Cole, Caleb, and Leah; great grandchildren, Brantley, John Harvey, Carson, Murphy, Ellie, Luke, Cash, Mason, Mia, Quinn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Bonner is preceded in death by his daughter, Shari Bonner; parents, C.C. and Ennie Bonner; brothers, W.E. Bonner, K.C. Bonner, Harvey Bonner, Norwood Bonner; sisters, Emma Lee Holloway, Bonnie Mitcham, and Sue Hargraves.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be grandsons, Nick Bonner, Clint Bonner, Cole Bonner, Caleb Bonner; and nephews, Jr. Bonner, Jim Bonner, Josh Randall, and Mike Holloway.
