Obituary of Rachel Lucille Halterman

Funeral services for Rachel Lucille Harper Harris Halterman are scheduled for 3 PM Thursday, December 23, 2021, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Petrus officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 2 PM. Mrs. Halterman, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the age of seventy-eight. She was a homemaker and her last employment was for the Bastrop Police Department as the Secretary of the Chief of Police from 1976-1980. Mrs. Halterman loved God, her family and spending time with them. She loved to fish, cross stitch, and crochet (she gave it all away). Mrs. Halterman is survived by her son, Robert W. Harris (April); step-sons, Mark Halterman and Richard Halterman; granddaughters, Olivia Harris and Anna Halterman; son/grandson, Billy Joe Halterman; grandsons, Daniel Harris, Ethan Harris, Brad Halterman, and Dillon Merriweather; great-grandchildren, Chloe Halterman, Jaxon Halterman, and seven more; sister, Jo Hayes; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Wilton Halterman, Jr.; parents, Henry Robert and Annie Rachel Harper; son, Donnie Harris, Jr.; daughter, Julie Buchan; sister, Aline Meredith; brothers, Robert C. Harper, Douglas Harper, and Nolan Harper.
