Obituary of Lloyd Leon Harrell, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd Leon Harrell, Jr. are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, February 3, 2022, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Butch Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Mr. Harrell, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the age of seventy-eight. He retired from International Paper Company in Bastrop, LA, as the #4 Machine Operator, after thirty-eight years of service. Mr. Harrell attended the Assembly of God in Collinston, LA, and was a well known hunter and fisherman of the area. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Catherine Musgrove Harrell; daughter, Belinda Harrell; sons, David Harrell and wife, Kim, and Donald Harrell and wife, Paula; sister, Shirley Ann Leonard; brothers, James “Buddy” Harrell, and Larry Harrell and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Caleb Harrell, Skylar Harrell, Britt Harrell and wife, Monica, Zack Harrell, Cameron Harrell, and McKenzie Harrell; and great-grandchildren, Spencer Harrell, Addison Rae, Sadi Blaine, and Blake. Mr. Harrell is preceded in death by his grandson, Trapper Adkins; father, Loyd Leon Harrell and wife, Estelle; mother, Evelyn Franklin and husband, Frank; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Mae Musgrove. Serving as pallbearers will be David Harrell, Donald Harrell, Thomas Littleton, Brother Musgrove, Ronald Dement, and Mike Dement. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Oser and Wayne Gilbreath. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Premier Hospice for their loving care for Mr. Harrell.
