Obituary of Michael Dale "Mike" LaRoe

Funeral services for Mr. Michael Dale “Mike” LaRoe are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Pine Grove Baptist Church pavilion, Bernice, LA, with Bro. Steve Barrett and Bro. Tim Post officiating, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Bernice, LA. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 AM - 11 AM at the church pavilion. Mr. LaRoe, an automotive technician, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, at the age of sixty-five. He was born in Columbia, MO, graduated from Strong Arkansas High School, and later relocated to Bernice where he resided until his passing. Mr. LaRoe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and was blessed to have a multitude of friends. He was an extremely hard worker and owner of Mike’s Auto Repair for over forty years. Mr. LaRoe was a man of many talents, including an accomplished woodworker, having made a lot of his furniture. He is survived by his wife, Sheila LaRoe; daughter, Jessica Arnold; son, Brandon LaRoe and wife Shelley, step-son, Jason Evans and wife Wendy; sisters, Rebecca Griffis, and Angie LaRoe; grandchildren, Isaac Arnold, Avery LaRoe, Hunter LaRoe, Madison Perritt, Emily Curtis, Christina Strickland, Michael Evans, Selena Evans; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Strickland, Abigail Strickland, and nephews, Kyle Griffis, and Kurt Griffis. Mr. LaRoe is preceded in death by his parents, George and June LaRoe. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jeff Dendy, Mike Colvin, Dewayne Hall, Kenny Doss, Sam Grafton, Kyle Griffis, Danny Floyd Dendy. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Hope, William Colvin, and Larry Green.
