Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Celeste Post are scheduled for 2 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Mt. Union Baptist Church, Spearsville, LA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop. There will be a time of visitation preceding the service beginning at 12 noon. Mrs. Post was born in Spearsville on December 11, 1927, and passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the age of ninety-four. She was a resident of Spearsville for the majority of her life and served alongside her husband in ministry for almost sixty-five years as a faithful pastor’s wife. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and enjoyed her family being around her every opportunity she could. She was a wonderful cook, and spent endless hours preparing fried chicken, dressing, chicken and dumplings, and her wonderful yeast rolls, for an untold number of church fellowships. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and was active until her health declined making it no longer possible for her to attend. She is preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Bro. Forrest Post; her beloved son, Jon Marc Post; parents, Carl and Odessa Nash; sisters, Muriel Goosen, Catherine Hall, Marilyn Odom, Weltha Guillory, Lenora Martin, and Carolyn Taylor; and brother Dewey Nash. Survivors include her children, Jim Post, and wife Carol, Denise Boatright, and husband Buddy, Steve Post, and wife Carrie, Tim Post, and wife Carmen, and Donna Langley, and husband Steve; grandchildren, Gregory Post, Tanya Cole, and husband John, Casey Jackson, and wife Brittany, Chad Jackson, and wife Mandy, Brian Boatright, and wife Amanda, Danny Boatright, and wife Laura, Carrie Rookard, and husband Trey, Bonnie Ginn, and husband Blake, Josh Post, and wife Beth, Kaylon Reed, and husband Jonathon, Jacob Post, and wife Courtney, Matt Bowman, and wife Amber, Morgan Johnson, and husband Riley, Stephanie Mitchell, Chris Stinson, and husband Brad, Brandon Steinsiek, and wife Katie, and Kristen Steinsiek; thirty-one great-grandchildren; brother Charles Nash, and wife Patsy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Serving the family as pallbearers will be grandsons, Gregory Post, Josh Post, Casey Jackson, Chad Jackson, Matt Bowman, and Jacob Post. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
