Selma Jean Del Rio, 91, passed away on February 27, 2022. She was born in Crossett, AR, on September 3, 1930, to Leo Guy Rogers and Lily Mae (Pendergrass) Rogers. Jean, also known as "Mama Jean," was a sweet, loving, and giving person. Everyone that met her left feeling loved and cared for. However, she did have a mischievous side, and if you knew her well, there was a chance you were a victim to one of her many pranks. Apart from pranking others, she enjoyed traveling, shopping, and reading the Bible. Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 53:5, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed." Jean was also a business owner for six years and was proud of her work. Mama Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, aunt, and friend whose memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of those that loved her. She is survived by her son, Greg Del Rio (Jodi); daughters, Jerilyn Weeks and Janet Del Rio; grandchildren, Jason Weeks, Dayton Weeks, Neal Del Rio, Hillary Golden, Jae Crymes, Josh Sisk, and Braiden Wright; and great-grandchildren, Derek Weeks, Kaley Weeks, Clara Grace Williams, Cohen Williams, Blakely Del Rio, Memphis Crymes, Connor Golden, and Tanner Lester. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Bill" Del Rio; parents, Leo Guy and Lily Mae Rogers; daughter, Gail Del Rio; and three sisters and one brother. A graveside service will be held at Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop, Louisiana, on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.
