Graveside funeral services for Mr. Cubee O. Burgess are scheduled for 2 PM Monday, March 7, 2022 at Pinegrove South Cemetery with Bro. Phillip McCready officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 AM - 1 PM at Goldens.
Mr. Burgess, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022. He is a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Iron Workers Union Local 623. He enjoyed tending to his yard and keeping his cars spotless. Mr. Burgess was truly a giving man with the heart of a servant, always willing to lend a hand when needed and offering help before it was asked for.
Mr. Burgess is survived by his wife, Linda Burgess; daughter, Tyra Knight and husband Brice; sisters, Carolyn White, Gloria Bennett and husband James; son-in-law, Cary Tilbury; grandchildren, Miranda Chorette and husband Tripp, John Tilbury and wife Jordyn, Michael Moore and wife Marissa; great grandchildren, Ava Barnhill, Annistyn Chorette, Karoline Tilbury, Maebry Chorette, Kynlee Tilbury, Elliana Moore; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, Steve and Heather Barnhill.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kristy Burgess Tilbury; and parents, W.O. Burgess, Jr and Gloy V. Burgess.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Hink Hudson, John Paul Carter and Chris Carter. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Ray Carter.
