Funeral services for Mr. David C. Anderson, Sr are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, March 12, 2022 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends Friday, March 11, 2022 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Mr. Anderson passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the age of eighty-seven. He was a member of the Optimist Club of Bastrop and the American Legion. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Anderson enjoyed hunting. He loved people and never met a stranger. He is survived by his wife, Marie Anderson; children, Davita Anderson, David Anderson, Jr., and Sharon Jones and husband Robert; step-children, Jacquelin Leigh Watt and husband Eddie, Lisa Doyal and husband Greg; grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson Melton and husband Stuart, Angelea Jones, Carter Doyal and Hayden Doyal; great grandchildren, Anderson Grace Melton, Anna Dale Melton, and Andon Melton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Anderson, Sr and Pearl Anderson; and brothers, Allison Anderson, R,C. Anderson, Jr, Larch Anderson, and Charles Anderson. His family would like to express their love and gratitude to his wife, Marie for the wonderful loving care that she gave to David during his illness. Also a special thank you for the care he received at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home during his stay there, and Jerry and Melinda Bryan for the many times they graciously fed and cared for Mr. David and his family. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Richard Anderson, IV, Lindsay Anderson, Carson Anderson, Stuart Melton, Andon Melton, and Jerry Bryan. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Anderson, Dr. Carter Cox, J.H. Lockwood, A.P. Owens, Jim Wilson and Jack McCormack.
