Obituary of Judy Rose Humphrey

Funeral services for Mrs. Judy Rose Humphrey are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Linson officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Mrs. Humphrey passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the age of seventy-four. She was the traditional homemaker, taking care of her family, who loved playing the piano and singing. She started playing the piano when she was just a girl and she would play at church, participating in countless revivals, funerals and weddings, even playing for the Humphrey Family singing group. She loved her grandbabies so much and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be missed! She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Humphrey of Bastrop, LA; sons, James W. Humphrey, Jr and wife Holly of Monroe, LA, Jason Humphrey and wife Nancy of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Haley Humphrey and fiancé Zack Harrell, Brayden Humphrey, Emery Humphrey, and Eli Humphrey. Mrs. Humphrey is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Humphrey, Sr.; parents, Rev. A.A. and Zuma Johnson; daughters, Anna L. Humphrey, Margaret E. Humphrey; and brother, Kenneth L. Johnson. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Will Lambert, Daniel Grissom, Jared Medaries, Brandon Semmes, J.J. Holyfield, J.E. Wood, Tim Calk, and Coleman Stover. Honorary pallbearers are Phil Edwards, Dale Liner, Dennis Ragland, and Darren Ragland. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 12 noon - 2 PM service time at Golden Funeral Home.
