I worked at Stauffer Chemicals with Jerry (JB) until his retirement in 1986, the knowledge and wisdom of Jerry is still talked about frequently at the plant. the guidance and instructions shared and imparted into me was Priceless. His willingness to help and serve others with a Humbleness that was unmatched. I Thank God that He allowed our lives to cross paths. Jerry was a Blessing to all that came in contact with him.

Brother Jerry and Sister Gloria lived just down Cherry Ridge Rd from my Pappaw Ivan and Mammaw Edna Bounds. I ALWAYS felt loved and welcomed in their home. EVERY time they saw me they ALWAYS had a smile and a word of encouragement to a young man who will ALWAYS treasure both! I rarely use words like EVERY and ALWAYS, but these two were so very consistent and faithful!! Their extremely high level of love for Jesus and others is sadly very rare. We pray for all their family and many loved ones. Heaven only knows just how many lives they touched with the love of Jesus! They will meet MANY in heaven who they helped meet Jesus and who they greatly encouraged to know, grow and "go" for Jesus. As missionaries, Jean and I pray we will honor their amazing legacy!!

Mr. Spikes was a Godly man that visited Cherry Ridge Nursing Home several times each week to bring the word of GOD to the residents. He always had an upbeat spirit that touched the hearts of many people. May you rest in peace. My prayers and thoughts are with his family .

My first memory of your Dad was of him telling me about my Dad, who was killed during WWII. It was special to me. It is sad to lose parents. Dottie Messinger Fair

Dianne, I am so sorry to learn of the death of Bro. Jerry! He was a fine Christian man who was faithful to share the love of Jesus Christ with anyone he met. His visits with my parents were always appreciated and were so up lifting! I was also sorry to hear of your mom’s death. I lost contact with your family and didn’t even know where you were living. I would love to know all about you and your family and how you got to Topeka, KA! May God grant you peace and mercy as you adjust to live without your precious dad!!

Bro. Jerry Spikes was one of the sweetest Christian men I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I helped in the church ministry at Cherry Ridge Nursing Home for many years, playing the piano or leading the music. This is where I first got acquainted with Bro. Jerry as he preached every Sunday morning. What sweet memories I have of ministering and visiting at Cherry Ridge with Bro. Jerry, Sue McKeithen, Teri Williams, and Orville Noble.. I am sure Bro. Jerry, Orville and Sue were happy to see one another again. Love and prayers to Bro. Jerry’s family.

My Dearest Diane, I can't begin to tell you what knowing your father has meant to me and Heather, I looked forward to coming to estate sales just to give Jerry a hug and to hear him say he loved me, I loved listening to his stories about the war, and to know what a brave man he was, He was truly a beautiful soul whom I am so glad to have had in my life, I wish I could have told him goodbye but I know he is watching over us in a healed body, guiding us while we are still here, Thank you for sharing him with us, I am so sorry you had to lose him, but we will all see him again one day, Praying for you all and you are in my thoughts and prayers, Much love to you all!
