Obituary of Gene Everett Pullen

Gene Everett Pullen, age 82, a resident of Ennis, TX, passed away August 9, 2021 and was laid to rest Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Hughes Chapel Cemetery, Bastrop, LA. Gene was born, November 17, 1938 to JT Pullen and Eddie Lee Humphrey in Bastrop, LA. Gene entered the Air Force at the age of 17 and served for four years. He started his career in the insurance field with Combined American Insurance, where he was a very successful leader and motivator to many. Gene always had a smile and a joke to go with it every time you saw him. He was one of the most positive and happy people you could have known. He had a passion for dancing, it was that passion that lead him to his friend and soul mate of thirteen years, Karon Hines of Ovilla, TX. Gene was married to Shirley Spillers for 20 years and together they had four daughters, Donna Rowell Davis, Cynthia Anderson Winn, Karen Pullen and Sylvia Pullen; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren Gene is preceded in death by his parents, J.T.
