A graveside celebration for Mrs. Bobbie Nell Townsend are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Tim Post and Mr. Elva Greer officiating.
Mrs. Townsend, a homemaker and member of Loch Arbor Baptist Church, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the age of eighty-nine. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She loved her family and was genuine in every expression of love for them and was proud of each one. Her love for her family was only exceeded by her love for Jesus. She was the epitome of a pastor’s wife and served alongside her husband, Bro. Lynn, for many, many years. She was never one to shy away from any task around the church as she worked in many different areas, from teaching Sunday School to cleaning the church. Her servant’s heart was never more on display than when she joyfully served the Lord in each of the churches where Bro. Lynn served as pastor. The impact that her life had will only be revealed in the glories of Heaven as the Lord speaks the words, “Well done thou good and faithful servant” to her.
She is survived by daughters, Vicki Townsend Garlington and husband Arthur R. of Swartz, LA, Karen Townsend Rawls and husband Aubrey of Eros, LA; son, Tim Townsend of Blue Eye, MO; grandchildren, Rob Garlington, and wife Tara, Spencer Rawls, Kayleigh Seale and husband Michael, Lora Marie Diggs and husband Eric, Andy Townsend, Tim Ernst and wife Katie; great grandchildren, Garret Garlington, Abbey Garlington, Ella Garlington, Liam Seale, Mileigh Seale and Gabriella Diggs; brothers, Layne Knight, Ricky Knight and wife Marcia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Bro. Lynn Townsend; parents, Thomas and Myrtle Knight; and grandson, Jason Garlington.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Art Garlington, Rob Garlington, Garret Garlington, Aubrey Rawls, Spencer Rawls, and Michael Seale.
