Graveside funeral services for Mr. Ernest Franklin “Frank” Fleming, age seventy-eight, are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in Christ Church Cemetery with Bro. Robert Sanders officiating.
Mr. Fleming, a member of Harmony Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born on the Bayou Macon June 22, 1943 to Alton and Viola Fleming. Mr. Fleming, a graduate of Bastrop High, loved hunting, fishing, and racing cars, but he loved his family the most. He served his country in the National Guard, served his community as a Firefighter having retired after twenty-six years, and the beginner of three generations (son, Craig, and grandson, Christopher). He also was the owner and operator of Frank’s Body Shop.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry Fleming; children, Craig Fleming and wife Bridget, Ben White nd wife Crystal; siblings, John R. Fleming and wife Carol; grandchildren, Crystal Johns (Eric), Derek Fleming, Burgundy Popwell (Cameron), Christopher Popwell (Ainslea); great grandchildren, Ethan, Mason, Makayla, and Kaylee Grace.
Mr. Fleming is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Viola Fleming; siblings, Irving Fleming, Patricia Hatton; sons, Michael Fleming, Jason Fleming and great granddaughter, Vivian Webb.
Honorary pallbearers are the Bastrop Fire Department.
