Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann King Bowe are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Mer Rouge United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Stearns and Rev. William Sikes officiating. Interment will follow in Bonne Idee Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowe, retired from Mer Rouge State Bank as a teller, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the age of ninety-four. She was a member of Mer Rouge United Methodist Church and served as Treasurer of United Methodist Women for thirty-five years. Mrs. Bowe loved working in her yard and flower gardening. Mrs. Bowe was an excellent cook and seamstress. She loved her family and her family was very important in her life. She is survived by her children, Cecilia Ann Bingham of Calhoun, LA, George C. Bowe, Jr and wife Jean of Bastrop, LA, James David Bowe and wife Cyndi of Mer Rouge, LA, Steven Walker Bowe and wife Julie of Swartz, LA; grandchildren, Penny Fletcher and husband A.C., Robert Bingham and wife Renee, Jason Bingham and wife Melissa, Paul Bowe, Krista Benson and husband John Add, Stephanie Hickman and husband Randy, Chris Nolan and wife Sarah, Cynthia Moreno and husband Sammy, Jamie Sikes and husband William, Josh Bowe, Angela Caulk and husband Zach; twenty-six great grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Bowe is preceded in death by her husband, George C. Bowe, Sr.; parents, George King, Sr and Maggie King; brothers, George King, Jr, W.P. King, Clifford King; grandson, James David Bowe, Jr.; son-in-law, Jimmy Bingham. Serving as pallbearers are Sammy Moreno, William Sikes, Calvin Lusby, Billy King, Robert Bingham, Josh Bowe and honorary pallbearers are Buddy Blackwell, William Hayden, Dickie Heusel, Bill King and Bobby King. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mer Rouge United Methodist Church at 309 W. 11th St./P.O. Box 400, Mer Rouge, LA 71261.
