Obituary of Douglas Bissell

A visitation for Mr. Douglas Bissell, age 71, of Bastrop, LA, will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 2 PM - 4 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Bissell had a love for life and enjoyed spending his days fishing and hunting with his best friend, Chris. He was a loving father and brother who loved his family very much. He cherished them and worshiped his son, Travis. Mr. Bissell was surrounded by neighbors who he considered to be his closest friends, spending a lot of his time visiting with them. He will always be remembered for having the biggest heart and always putting others before himself. Mr. Bissell is survived by his mother, Hazel Lee Bissell; son, Travis Blake Bissell; siblings, Henry Bissell and wife Tonya, Debbie Jones and husband Charles (who was like a brother to Mr. Bissell, even before marrying into the family); best friend, Chris Korjan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Julia Bissell; daughter, Tina Renee Bissell; father, Henry C. Bissell; sister, Earline Beal; and grandparents, Henry Custer Bissell and Callie Bissell.
