Funeral services for Geneva E. Mattice are scheduled for 2PM Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Harmony Baptist Church, with Bro. Allan Eppinette and Bro. Todd Mattice officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will have a time of visitation Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 5 PM - 7 PM at the church. Mrs. Mattice, a charter member of Harmony Baptist Church, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the age of eighty-one. She was employed by Ogden’s Cleaners and West Brothers, before retiring from Moore Oil. She loved listening to church services, especially the singing, and enjoyed having her family come over to bring food for a big family lunch. Mrs. Mattice loved her flowers, her garden, and enjoyed watching kids play ball. She would feed the kids from the concession stand. Mrs. Mattice never met a stranger. She talked to everyone! Mrs. Mattice is survived by her daughters, Renee Canal and husband Buddy, Pam Forestier, Kim Griffith and husband Anthony; sons, Ricky Mattice, Todd Mattice and wife Kim; daughter-in-law, Latrice Mattice; twenty-three grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sister, Jean Weddle; brother, Mike Nealy; sister-in-law, Bea Nealy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Burt “Skip” Mattice; father, George Nealy; mother and step-father, Hazel and Gorden Hightower; son, Gary Allen Mattice; sister, Maxine Brown; and brother, Don Nealy. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Premier Hospice and staff for their special love and care.
