Memorial services for Mrs. Arla Degges Orrels are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, July 15, 2022, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Tim Post officiating.
Mrs. Orrels, a resident of Bastrop, LA and retiree of International Paper Company, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the age of sixty-nine. She enjoyed quilting as her favorite hobby. Hunting and fishing were two of her favorite pastimes, and she was very enthusiastic in her cheering at sporting events.
Mrs. Orrels is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Jacob Orrels; daughter, Laura Hawthorne and husband, Jes; son, Justin Orrels and wife, Tara; sister-in-law, Lynell Wise and husband, Jim, Helen Knight and husband, Carlton; brothers-in-law, Tommy Orrels, Sam Orrels and wife, Brenda, Kenny Orrels and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Kayla Hawthorne, Jessica Hawthorne, Amelia Kate Orrels, and Ryker Orrels; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fulton A. Deggs and Verla Willison Degges; and several aunts and uncles.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Prairie View Academy Lady Spartan Softball program.
