A private memorial graveside service for Mrs. Margie Nelms Harris was held Friday, July 15, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Lisa Mayo officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Harris, a resident of Bastrop, LA, was born September 22, 1920, and passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the age of one hundred one. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and she also served as president of the United Methodist Women for several terms.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Harris Haley and husband Michael; daughter-in-law, Joyce Marlette; and grandchildren, John Harris and James Harris.
Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Earl D. Nelms; husband, A.E. Harris; son, Paul G. Harris; and brother, Carl D. Nelms.
