Obituary of David McLeod Boone

Funeral services for David McLeod Boone are scheduled for 10 AM Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church, with Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Phil Bostick officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Boone was born November 18, 1928, and passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the age of ninety-three. David never met a stranger. His genuine desire to get to know ALL about you was a quality that served him well. He was the family Historian, many times sharing details that had long been forgotten. Mr. Boone’s knowledge of Morehouse Parish ancestry will be missed. He loved his family, friends, and His God! Mr. Boone is survived by his sons, Dennis Boone, and Ronald Boone and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Frank Boone, Nicholas Boone and wife, Danielle, Adrienne Bridges and husband, Matt, Neely and Camille, Kathryn Webb and husband, Shannon; nieces, Melinda Boone and husband, Gaylon, and Cheryl Boone and husband, Ron. He is also survived by his second family, Charles Bostick, Vera Kelly and husband Woodrow, Phil Bostick and wife, Glenda, Lauria Merritt and husband, John, Sherry Johnson; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous extended nieces, nephews, and other family. Mr. Boone is preceded in death by his second wife, Christine Bostick Boone; first wife, Bettie Jo Blanks Boone; parents, Bluford Napoleon and Erma McLeod Boone; and brothers, Lloyd N. Boone and wife, Raye, and Morris Boone and wife, Martha. Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Boone, Nicholas Boone, Matt Bridges, Shannon Webb, Buddy Richards, and Kevin Chain. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Bethel Men’s Sunday School Class and Phil Bostick. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to David’s friends for their caring support and to the staff of Lagniappe Healthcare and Premier Hospice.
