Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys S. Porter are scheduled for 3 PM Sunday, September 4, 2022, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Porter passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at the age of eighty-six. She loved her family, going to church, camp meetings and her Lord. Mrs. Porter worked for thirty-one years for the State of Louisiana and twenty-six years for West Carroll Home Health.
She is survived by her children, Karen Denise Campbell and husband James, Gerald Wayne Porter, Larry Owens Porter and wife Teresa; grandchildren, Scott Adam Campbell and wife Kari, Tamara Nicole Bailey and husband Brad, Demi Lynn Robinson and husband Kwone, Amber Payton Porter, Maci Nadine Porter, Erica Danielle Porter; four great grandchildren; brother, Bernard Smithwick; sisters, Mary Porter, Lola Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Porter is preceded in death by her parents, Carlie and Mittie Smithwick; her husband, Owens Porter; siblings, Cora Lee Heath, Ida Mae Dick, Luther “Pete” Smithwick, George Lloyd Smithwick, Billy Smithwick, and Carl Smithwick, Jr; and great grandchild, Jaxson Porter.
Serving the family as pallbearers are Carlton Porter, Clarence Lee Hogan, Brian Malone, Antonio Hernandez, Brad Bailey, and Scott Campbell.
