Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Priest, age 82, are scheduled for 1 PM Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Britt Dupree and Bro. Phillip McCready officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday morning, prior to the service, from 11 AM until 1 PM at Goldens. Mr. Priest, a member and deacon of Central Missionary Baptist Church, passed away September 20, 2022. He was a board member of Kraftman Federal Credit Union for more than fifty years. He also served as board member and president of United Way. He served on the Morehouse Parish School Board and leader of the Bastrop High School chain gang, and also served his country in the United States Army. In his earlier years, he coached baseball and football. One of his past time hobbies was taxidermy. After Mr. Priest retired from International Paper Company, he took on the role of handyman at The Prep Center and Papaw to all of the children there. He is survived by his daughter, Bobbette Janssen and husband David; daughter-in-law, Theresa Priest; grandchildren, Nikki Stiner and husband Arthur, Hunter Priest, Jake Bolin, Colton Harris, Sam Janssen; great grandchildren, Payton, Kaiden, Gavin, Asher, Corbin, David, Kamryn, Alexis; special family, Tami Reynolds and husband Allen and their children and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Mr. Priest is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Priest; parents, Johnnie and Hazel Priest; son, David Priest; brother, Charles Priest; great grandson, C.J. Woods; great granddaughter, Marleigh Jade Bolin; father and mother-in-law, C.J. and Gertrude Thompson. Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Priest, Jake Bolin, Colton Harris, Sam Janssen, Allen Reynolds, Arthur Stiner and David Janssen.
