Obituary of Lester Cleveland "Buddy" Gilliam

Funeral services for Lester Cleveland “Buddy” Gilliam are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, October 15, 2022, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dow Young, III officiating. Interment will follow in Bonne Idee Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, prior to the service, beginning at 9 AM. Mr. Gilliam passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at the age of seventy-two. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Hunt; daughter, Kimberly Lockwood and husband, James; sisters, Dolly Elizabeth Willis, Mary Margaret Sanchez, and Vivian Paulette Odom; brother, William Pennington; grandchildren, Brennan Ray Leonard, Eden Montana, Rebecca Lynn Gilliam, Jay Lockwood, Elizabeth Harding, Brittany Harding, Ashlyn Lockwood, and Mercedes Lockwood; great grandchildren, Shelbie Rose, Lola Ray, Sierra Cook, and Rhyder Cook. Mr. Gilliam is preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland “Bully” Gilliam and Jean Tyson Pennington; daughter, Tonya Gilliam; and sisters, Donna Jean Green, Minnie Rebecca Coker, and Linda Renee Hunt. Serving as pallbearers will be Brennan Leonard, Jay Lockwood, Jamie Frisby, and Timothy Coker. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Frisby and Don Odom.
