Funeral services for Mr. Roy Dean Hodges, Sr., age 83, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2022, at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Stan Wyant and Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in McGee Mt. Rose Cemetery (775 Double G Ranch Rd. Grayson, LA) at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Hodges, a retired truck driver and member of Faith Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022. He loved people and had a quick wit. He never met a stranger and enjoyed making people smile. Mr. Hodges was a devoted husband, great father and a good care giver. He was a versatile, talented and resourceful man who enjoyed working in his yard and decorating for Christmas.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, Voncele Hodges; daughter, Ronda Renae Hodges; sons, Roy Dean Hodges, Jr., Michael John Hodges and wife Amanda; brother, Lewis Hodges and wife Carol; grandchildren, Hayden Michael Hodges, Mary Katherine Hodges, Trey Vicknair; great grandson, Brentley Harrison Vicknair and stepchildren, Pam Armstrong and husband Craig, Tammy Cooper and husband Mike
He is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Annie Mae Hodges; daughter, Daisy Lynn Hodges; parents, Harvey and Roberta Hodges and a brother, Cecil Doffitt.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Lee Craft, Acey Craft, Rocky Cain, Hank Boyles, Randy Hatten, and Don Burns. Honorary pallbearer is Charlie McKee.
