Tim Post officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Stanley, a resident of Beekman and retired rural letter carrier, departed for his heavenly home on December 18, 2022. He was born in Longview, Arkansas to the union of Elmer Stanley and Eva Bolin Stanley. Mr. Stanley worked for the United States Postal Service in Crossett, Arkansas for many years. He enjoyed his job and developed lasting friendships with the people on his route. It was not uncommon for him to stop and have lunch two to three times a day with the good folks on Route 3. Although he never gave away the secret hiding place, he was known to stop and get a nap before returning to the office. After thousands of miles and numerous replaced transmissions, he retired in 1995 to become a full time Mr. Fix It for his family. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true passion was "running dogs" and fox hunting. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday nights. As time progressed, he was able to watch the old shows on television and also watch the people clog. He is survived by his daughters; Glennis Stanley Lewis and husband Benny Mack Lewis; Lisa Stanley Chain and husband Kevin Chain; all of Beekman; grandchildren, Amanda Newnum Lewis and husband B.J., Jennifer Chain Ellingburg and husband Jim, Hunter Lewis; all of Beekman; great grandchildren, Katelynn Lewis, Garrett Lewis, Emmalyn Ellingburg, James Evan Ellingburg; all of Beekman; sister Judy Stanley Mace of Myrtle Beach, SC, brother Hershall Stanley of Mayflower, AR; sister Diane Stanley Stephenson of Bastrop, TX; and very special friend Marie White of Hamburg, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Evans Stanley, his parents, sister Elsie Allison and brother Roma Stanley. Serving the family as pallbearers will be his nephews, Roma Carroll Stanley, Billy Jordan, Tommy Jordan, Curtis Jordan, Dillon Evans and special nephew Ray Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Wilkerson and the Adult Men's Sunday School Class of Bethel Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Deborah Long for her love, friendship and chauffeur services, and Amy Blevins and the staff at Lagniappe Healthcare for their love and care.
