Funeral services for Dr. Steven Christopher Stout, age fifty-three of Gulf Breeze, FL, are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Pastor Jim d’Entremont officiating. Interment will follow in Loch Arbor Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Friday, February 10, 2023 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Steven passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at his residence. He graduated from Bastrop High School in 1987. He joined the United States Army National Guard in 1987 and served for eight years in the 528th Engineering Battalion holding the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received his Master's degree from NLU in 1995 and Doctorate in Psychology from Texas Christian University in 2001. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at Binghamton University from 2000 to 2003. He worked at Valdosta State University in Valdosta GA for 3 years and at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville AL for 7 years as a Psychology professor. In his later career he worked as a BCBA-D where he provided therapy for children diagnosed with Autism. Steven came to the Faith in 2004. He greatly looked forward to teaching his Sunday School class of 3rd , 4th, and 5th graders each week at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where he and his family are members. Steven is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nicole Stout; sons, Harrison Blake Stout and Shelby Nicholas Stout, all of Gulf Breeze, FL; mother, Susie Stout of Bastrop, LA; brother, John Stout of Bastrop, LA; niece, Amber Stout Antley of West Monroe, LA; and nephew, Coby Laing of Beekman, LA. He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Lee Stout. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Coby Laing, Paul Bowe, Stacy Roper, James Mardis, Mike Authement, and Kent Deshotel. Honorary pallbearers are the 3rd , 4th, and 5th grade Sunday School class of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
